It is a member of the family Lamiaceae, grows to between 20–60 cm tall, with opposite, light green, silky leaves about 1.5 to 5 cms Long and about 1 to 3 cms Broad, tastes somewhat like Anise, with a Strong, Pungent, sweet Smell. Basil Seeds when soaked in the water, it become gelatinous, and are used in many Asian Drinks and Desserts.
