It is a herbaceous plant, with a slender, glabrous, branched stem about 12 inches tall, and has a diameter of 3 to 5 cm. Each branch has 2 to 3 sub-branches, all branches attain the same height. The stem is colored grey or dark green. The leaves are usually about 4 inches long. The plant produces small white or rose colored flowers, and fruit which is about 4 mm to 5 mm long, containing two mericarps with a single seed.
